MySQL – Data management system
MySQL is one of the world’s most popular database management systems. MySQL was launched in 1994. The name is composed of My (first name of the co-founder’s daughter) and SQL (Structured Query Language). One preferred application is data storage for web services, where MySQL is commonly used in combination with the Apache web server and PHP scripting language.
