Name servers – Introduction

Support > Domains > Domain administration

Name servers redirect requests for a certain domain or subdomain to the desired server.

The name-server details needed to activate your domain are sent to you in the same email that includes your personal login details. This email is sent to you when you place an order with Hoststar.

In order to activate a domain without running into problems on the Hoststar servers, we recommend that you always define two name servers for your domain. The procedure for changing the name server of a domain registered by Hoststar is described here.

If your domain is not registered with Hoststar, you can save these two name servers with the registrar who manages your domain.
